Chiropractic

What is

Chiropractic is a treatment method often used to treat disorders affecting the musculoskeletal and nervous systems and their associated pain. The basic principle of this therapy is to manually manipulate the vertebrae and joints so that they are returned to their joint spaces.

How to apply?

Chiropractic is based on the therapist applying manipulative movements of controlled force, speed and amplitude to the patient, aiming to adjust the spine and correct biomechanical disorders.
Chiropractic mainly treats disorders of the spine, but is equally successful in treating the joints of the upper and lower limbs, restoring and improving their function.
Depending on the recommended treatment plan, chiropractic sessions can vary in number (several sessions within a month), and one session lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. In order to prevent relapses, we recommend our patients a maintenance therapy session monthly or at least once every 6 months.
Therapeutic manoeuvres are painless, performed with the hands but specific devices can also be used.

What conditions does it treat?

Chiropractic benefits patients of all ages by providing effective solutions for the following conditions: lumbosciatica, herniated discs, spondylitis, arthritis, epicondylitis, torticollis, locked shoulder disease, intercostal neuralgia, kyphosis, scoliosis, sprains, joint trauma, pelvic joint asymmetries, migraines, etc. These painful and often debilitating conditions frequently have a major impact on the nervous system, which can cause pain and dysfunction throughout the affected limb.

Benefits

Chiropractic corrects body position, restores muscle tone, blood circulation and mobility. It can help treat the underlying causes of pain so that the body’s overall structure and health are restored. For some conditions, long-term relief or cure can be achieved when chiropractic is combined with other therapies: physio and physiotherapy, ozone injections and self-plasma infiltrations, therapeutic massage, an appropriate nutrition programme and lifestyle modification.
