Ozone therapy
What is
Ozone therapy is a method of non-drug treatment that consists of introducing a mixture of oxygen-ozone into the body by various techniques: intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, nasal, auricular, vaginal and rectal insufflations, in order to stimulate thevitality of cells by activating metabolic and enzymatic processes.
Ozone therapy
At Genki Medical Center we use different administration methods, depending on the pathology. These, combined with the concentration of medical ozone and depending on the desired result, make ozone therapy one of the most interesting and effective therapies.
Autohemotherapy majoră
It is a systemic therapy because it is given intravenously. In a sterile, disposable container, a variable amount of venous blood is collected (between 100 and 200 ml), then an oxygen-ozone mixture is introduced using the necessary concentration depending on the patient’s need or condition and by bubbling (mixing) the haema (blood cell) captures the oxygen-ozone and transports it into the body. An autohemotherapy session lasts about 30 minutes.
Rectal and vaginal insufflations
The procedures are painless and non-invasive as the name of the procedure tells you. Ozone is inserted rectally or vaginally using a very thin, lubricated silicone tube, and is an alternative for patients who are unable to undergo major autohemotherapy.
It is recommended in liver diseases, namely hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis of the liver, Chron’s disease, ulcers, ischemic diseases, prevention of premature aging, bacterial and fungal infections.
Subcutaneous infiltrations
They are used mainly in the case of joint disorders (arthritis, recurrent arthrosis, stiffness), but also in painful areas due to inflammation.
Hypobaric bag therapy
It is a local treatment, applied to the upper and lower limbs. The limbs are placed in special ozone-resistant bags that are attached at both ends and connected to the ozone machine (they can be likened to a local ozone sauna). The therapy is recommended in: peripheral circulatory insufficiency, varicose ulcers, dermatological conditions, burns, ulcerations, postoperative wounds. Ozone therapy with hypobaric bags is also successfully used to treat diabetic foot, one of the most common complications in diabetics. Studies show that ozone therapy significantly reduces the number of lower limb amputations.
What conditions does it treat?
Ozone therapy is remarkably effective in the treatment and relief of various conditions.
The systemic effects of ozone are immunostimulating with anti-inflammatory and analgesic action, increases resistance to exertion, improves lymphatic circulation and blood circulation. With the help of ozone therapy can be treated: herniated discs, disc disease, arthrosis, joint inflammation, tendonitis, bursitis, fibromyalgia, muscle contractures, any type of pain syndrome.
This therapy has been proposed as primary or adjuvant therapy for various diseases including osteoarthritis, herniated discs, chronic wounds, hepatitis B and C, herpes zoster, HIV-AIDS, multiple sclerosis, cancer, heart disease.
Benefits
Ozone therapy has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-algesic and immunostimulating effects, is an excellent anti-aging agent, increases the body’s energy, substantially improves quality of life and prolongs life. Ozone therapy is very useful in the recovery process, against premature ageing and an effective tool for maintaining health.
