Mulligan treatment is based on passive mobilisations induced by the therapist, combined with active movements performed by the patient. It is a non-invasive, painless method performed through supportive mobilisation (repositioning of the joint component) with the aim of restoring functionality and reducing pain. The basic principle is mobilization with movement (MWM) and manual therapy techniques include: mobilization of the vertebral apophyses, mobilization of the spine associated with limb movement.<\/h5>\n
In fact, the therapist will immobilise the joint (or vertebra) causing the pain and the patient will perform movements, monitoring the degree of amplitude and intensity of the pain. Then, observing the patient’s reaction, the therapist will make the necessary corrections. The exercises are repetitive. The skill and knowledge of the therapist will ultimately lead to the elimination of pain and the patient regaining mobility. The objective is to enable the patient to perform pain-free those movements that were previously restricted, basically regaining the functionality of the joint and the musculoskeletal system.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
